Shooting for independent feature film Rift City begins

Writer and Director, Krisstian de Lara, and Producer, Victor Manuel Mares Bersosa, get invited to Lol TV show to speak about the production of the independent feature film Rift City. The project will be filmed in the border community of El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Rift City tells the story of Oriana, a college student who travels to Juarez to make a documentary about Chuy, a teenager who’s mother has gone missing. However, once she finds her whereabouts, Oriana struggles to come to terms with doing what’s best for her or Chuy.

De Lara and Mares are enthusiastic to enter principal photography and share the experience with the border community. Mares invites bystanders to approach the filming crew and enjoy the process of filmmaking with them. De Lara also states how the project was born almost 2 years and half ago with the purpose of bringing a positive message from the hard working people of Ciudad Juarez.

The project is expected to go into production for 23 consecutive days and to release in the United States and Mexico in 2019. Watch the full interview below:
