Kn2s Productions, Director, Krisstian de Lara, and the Sub Rosa team, are saddened by the unfortunate news that Mario Nalini, actor who played “Ernesto” in Sub Rosa, was diagnosed with a tumor, lupus and multiple seizes in his stomach. Mr. Nalini will be undergoing surgery this February and we send our best wishes to him as he battles this disease. We admire his strong will to fight this obstacle that has not stopped Mario from being the kind and joyful person we all know.
We previously announced that for the month of December, all rental proceeds from the short film Sub Rosa on ReelHouse.org will go towards Mario Nalini’s medical treatment fund. We encouraged everyone to rent it, watch it again, and share it with family members and you all did! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping our fellow actor and enjoying the craft of Mario in the process. This film would not have been a success without the hard work of Mr. Nalini in front and behind the camera. All funds collected will be sent to Mario’s GoFundMe page this month.
This monetary contribution might not be massive, but we hope it will bring small relief and a ray of hope to Nalini’s family during these difficult times. If you would like to continue to help, you can donate directly to Mario’s treatment fund here.
Sub Rosa tells the story of a teen boy (Mario Temes) bullied by his father (Mario Nalini) to grow up. During the course of a summer, events transpire that cause the teenage boy to fall in love with his stepmother (Julie Kendall), creating a spiraling conflict between the love of his step-mother and his father’s life. It’s a story about paternal and romantic love and the clash between them.
