Sub Rosa opening scene gets released on special day

The opening scene of the short film, Sub Rosa, gets released on Mother’s Day over at YouTube to celebrate all mothers around the world. In the film, Edna (Julie Kendall) tries to mend a family rupture by building a connection with Alan (Mario Temes) in the most unprecedented way. Although, Edna is Alan’s step-mother, she is the closes thing he has to a mother. Therefore, a tribute to her on this special day.
Sub Rosa tells the story of a teen boy bullied by his father to grow up. During the course of a summer, events transpire that cause the teenage boy to fall in love with his step-mother, creating a spiraling conflict between the love of his step-mother and his father’s life. It’s a story about paternal and romantic love and the clash between them.
The movie clip titled, “Timekeeping” showcases Alan unable to sleep due to the moaning and banging noises from his step-mother and father, Ernesto (Mario Nalini). After learning about Ernesto’s unexpected deployment, Alan keeps a strange record that seems concerning for a teen his age.
